I posted about the pink spinel below several weeks ago:

Identification: Natural Pink Spinel

Comment: No indication of treatments

Some of you mentioned that you would like to see pictures. I only have a crappy iphone picture now, thanks for letting me share!

I couldn''t quite capture the colour on iphone. The spinel looks better in real life compared to the picture. I''ll try to get better pictures when I have the ring with me and when I can upload pictures from my camera.

The stone and the setting (where did you get that gorgeous setting?) are TDF!!

I saw a swirl setting like that for a pear cut stone the other day, and I just about fell in love.

Is your spinel Tanzanian, Burmese, other???

Hi TL, Thank you, th stone is Burmese. I bought the stone with it already set, the setting was a custom job by the jeweler. The jeweler has his in-house group of benchmen working for him.

It''s a beautiful stone and quite a daring ring design (I mean that in a good way, many people would choose something more traditional). It''s obviously a wonderfully well made piece too.

Thank you for all your comments. When I bought it, it was the entire ring design plus colour of the spinel that captured me. It is a statement ring, hence the big wow factor, I guess. This will be a ring that I will wear to dinners and parties.
