Under my LED lights in the house the sapphire definitely looks more of a violety blue to me too! It picks up colors quite easily. I was wearing a red shirt today and it was quite difficult to angle the stone so it wasn''t catching the red and reflecting it. I just double checked and it still looks violety under the LED''s guess it wasn''t my shirt it was picking up and I don''t have anything that color in my room.

The sapphire looks green for the most part but it does seem to shift colors on me fairly easily.
