So this is where I am lol. I can’t get to Montana and I can’t get back to crater of diamonds just yet to dig again, so I just ordered a bucket of gravel from gem mountain in Montana to look for sapphire rough. I mean, hey, it’s cheaper than a tank of gas to get to COD.

A guy who bought land adjacent to COD is not selling untouched lamporite, but I haven’t bought that one yet. Because it’s unweathered, you have to let it soak for a few weeks before you can start breaking it down for sifting.

For this one, I would say it’s more about learning how to sift. Because it’s unweathered, it has to sit for a few weeks in a bucket of water to soften it and then you have to break it down, etc.

I haven’t ordered a box yet, but I might.

Sounds like tons of fun
Enjoy !
We have done a bit of purely recreational gold panning when down south
3 days in a stream being hounded by huge mosquitoes
I mean it was fun but
I'd take a bucket of gravel over that

Seems like a fun thing to do, kind of like gambling or lottery tickets. Hope you end up with a super cool find!

I have to go to physical therapy and then my daughter and I will wash it and screen it. I’ll keep you posted!

My daughter decided to sleep over her friend’s house, so I’m going to keep these soaking in a stainless steel tub outside (you know, like how the Brady kids used to wash tiger lol) overnight and will screen them tomorrow.

Yeah, it’s pretty harmless and was like $40? I don’t really drink etc, so it’s a minor cost for some entertainment
