DF and I are looking to purchase me (!) a princess cut diamond. We have pinpointed one and I would like opinions on it please.

GIA certified
5.82x 5.53x 3.95 mm
1.06 carats
Depth: 71.4%
Table: 73%
Girdle: Slightly think to thick
Cutlet: None
Polish: VG
Symmetry: Good
VS2, F
No Fluorescence

I''m allergic to platinum so we''re looking at white gold bands. I looove the Tiffany setting with a princess cut channel set wedding band. Maybe for "everyday" wear I''d like a plain band as well. I did try on a cathedral setting a liked it but felt the band was a bit too wide for me. DF doesn''t like the bands with sidestones, he felt they were too flashy

So opinions on the diamond would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I just love this setting together!

But I think with a princess cut I would like this e-ring:

With this wedding band:

http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=5234&catid=8&filter_id=0&nav1=band_channel.asp&page=1&col=2&row=3&pos=8&set_shape=

I''m sorry, I don''t know how to post pictures yet!

Thank you so much :)

From the numbers you provided, it is really hard to give any valuable comments. Ask for a sarin report from the dealer, as it contains additional information such as crown and pavilion angles.

For now, you can use the DIY chart for princess which can be found at www.gemappraisers.com. Click on the link "DIY Cut Grading" on your left. Choose princess and you will see a chart. Based on your numbers, the chart says your stone should be a good one. But for fancy shapes like princess, it is more important to see the stone in person. Numbers alone don''t do full justice.
