Skippy - thanks! I especially like how the setting makes the stone look bigger, like a bezel would, but without covering too much of the little stone.

I posted over in RockyTalky to see if any of the old cut experts could weigh in. I''d love to know exactly what cut I have, and if anyone knows this, around which decade it could be from...?

I might have to start looking for one of these stones. The cut is right and the price too- I guess you just have to be willing to look and to deal with the sellers.

Thanks MMT and Imdanny! I love the culet too...it actually shows up as a little dark dot in the middle of the stone when I''m looking directly down the table.
