Ombre rose cake!

I got suckered into making 2 cakes for the party tomorrow... One needed to be a small birthday cake for someone, and I also am making a large sheet cake for a 29th anniversary. I will do that one tonite. I baked the cakes today and decided to get the small one done this afternoon before I pick up the kids and shuttle them all over for sports.

It's beautiful! Definitely takes talent to be able to do that (which I don't have, lol!!). That's so neat.

I adore ombré, I have a pair of ombré leg warmers that are super cute.

thanks everyone! I did a you tube search on "rosette" cake. It was really easy! I have been making cakes for a few years now, I do it on the side. I'll post some pics of some others I've done...

This cake was SOOOO Much fun. Bought myself a gum paste flower kit from Wilton. Everything on the cake was edible except the fairies...The FINISHED CAKE is in the next post. These are just progress pics...I drank a LOT of beer making this.

here is the youtube link to the rosette cake. It's easy. If you REALLY want to impress someone, bake two 6 inch cakes. slap em on top of one another with some frosting in the middle, crumb coat it, and do these rosettes with alternating light and dark colors. Use wilton's crusting buttercream frosting recipe.

You can also do 8 inch or 10 inch cakes, just make more frosting.

Ombre is just light to dark color. It's yellow cake with butter cream frosting.

I told my boyfriend when I pass the CPA exam I want a princess cake with five princesses on it, one for each part of the exam and the separate ethics test. I would much rather get the cake from you than from anyone else on the planet!!!
