Please bear with me, I''m new at taking photos of stones!

the asscher cut zircon is cut by Gary Braun

the morganite is by lisa elser

both stones are stunning in real life, I can''t capture it on photo, i''m so impressed with the cutting

I would appreciate setting ideas (both are to be pendants)

A few photos coming up....

Gorgeous stones, rosetta - absolutely no question about the fantastic cut quality on either one! I was surprised to see how deep your zircon is - isn''t it the 3.16ct, 7mm? Do you have a depth measurement?

I think rose gold would be lovely for the morganite.

thanks guys!

cellentani, the asscher is very deep, i''m wondering exactly how to set it in a pendant?

also, any opinions on where exactly you would put the claws on the morganite?

Were it me, I''d use a split claw so each corner had two little claws, one on either site of the point. I try to think of how to set it when I do the design, but once it''s out of my rock box the choice is yours

I agree. I have a very strong bias, when it comes to asscher-cuts, to prefer split-prongs or bezels simply so you don''t hide the shape of the stone.

Both are wonderful!

I never had a zircon - just had some "mistrust" of these stones (I think it had to do with their treatment). But this one is beautiful, and non-traditional for this stone cut makes it more interesting.

As to morganite - it looks like a pink icicle.

Congratulations on beautiful pictures.

Morganite has a really nice clarity, as Crasru said it looks like a colored icicle, and I''m sure it sparkles nicely so I''d try to bring that out as much as possible. I''d suggest setting it at an angle, like a kite shape, cause set that way when it sparkles it would resemble a star (at least those you see in Disney''s animations). Some warm metal color for it would be best of course, and I''ll leave technical aspects such as prongs to someone more knowledgable, cause this stone (due to shape) could be a bit tricky to set.

I''d set the zircon in a simple and elegant slide pendant that you could wear on an omega or a harringbone necklace, and suggest prongs like the ones used here (hope the link works):
http://www-tc.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/archive/images/wa200706A50_00.jpg - they seem to flow nicely with the shape of the stone.
