New Pendant Design Sketches from Julia

Hi Everyone,

After seeing all the Julia Kay Taylor designs and finished pieces posted here, I just had to get one of my own. I have a green and a yellow tourmaline that I wanted to set into a pendant. I thought I''d share it with you

I wanted something fairly simple, incorporating the letter W in the design (hubby''s last name), unlike many of you, I had trouble describing what I wanted, I sent a very crude drawing to her and somehow she was able to translate it into this.

Oh, I think it''s a beautiful design!

Then after my ramblings about making it a ''more robust W'' (I didn''t even know what I really meant by that) and making sure the pendant is delicate but strong (expecting heavy wear), Julia turned it into something more like this.

Julia works amazingly hard, I''ve received several communications from her over the weekend.

I''m really looking forward to seeing the finished product

That is fantastic! I''m waiting for sketches from her on my pendant, too, and you have just gotten me so excited! I love how that one connects to the chain. Its gorgeous

Not great ones I'm afraid

, I don't know where I've saved the vendor pics and I took this in horrible fluorescent lighting just to give Julia a sense of the stones' relative size. I didn't even take the cover off the box

No worries, any picture is better than no picture!

that is a very nice and interesting design.
i had to point out, just make sure that the sharp upward pointing tip doesnt cut or poke your lower neck

Looks like it will be a beautiful design. Is the bottom stone going to be on a hinge type thing so that it moves? I always think a little bit of movement adds so much to a design. Can''t wait to see the finished product!

Sure is

, it''s going to be silver with a gold hinge pin!

Thank you for all the support everyone! I was a bit disappointed that my wedding band couldn''t be engraved (we had hubby''s engraved with our initials and wedding date) so this is a good compromise

Now I wonder if I should get started on my MIL''s mother''s day gift early

Good question, I''ve always liked warm colors and thought the yellow/green combination would go well together
