Yummy! The color looks divine to me!

The new rhodolite is quite interesting as well, very cool cut.

Hehe, unfortunately, I''ve tapped out what was left of my funds from this summer with my latest projects. Otherwise, I''d be buying this and putting it into a pendant to make a set!

It seems rather inexpesive for a tsav - or am I wrong?

I don't find it particularly out of line at that price compared to Eric or Gene. Gene recently sold a .96 ct for $384, and .88ct for $334. And Swala had some of that size and price point.

He does mention the color is a bit darker than ideal, and price accordingly. I for one love the deep green though, ideal or not.

Hey ladies,
this is the tsavorite I purchased from Gary (mentioned in my sapphire thread).

The cutting is awesome - really very impressive. The green is a tad darker than "ideal", as mentioned. I think it would be close to MTG''s..

I did return it, but only because I''ve been spoiled with owning larger stones, and I figured I''d rather wait and invest in one I am happy with in size as well as cutting etc..

Hehe, I try to keep all my ring stones to near or under the visual size of my diamond so as to fend of DSS

Another reason that I put my tanzanite in a pendant, haha.

I bet that tsav would look yummy in a two tone elixir. Yum Yum.

Very nice. I will just have to admire it, as I really should stop at 2 tsavorites.

Yeah, 5.2mm is a bit on the small side. :/
Do cushions generally face up smaller? My tsav is about the same weight, but 6.3m x 5.3.

Yes, cushions do generally face up smaller.

And ovals tend to face up larger, right?

Speaking of cushions on Gene''s site, if only I could afford the first tanzanite that''s up there right now...the gorgeous violet-blue one! But it''s way out of my price range.

Yes, rounds, marquise, ovals, face up larger than cushions. Ovals and marquise also have the elongating factor which makes them look larger, but cushions are such a lovely shape.

Supposing that cut is equal, I believe that ovals and marquises face up well. I''ve also heard that pears do well too because they aren''t as deep, plus the elongated shape factor. Still, cushions are my favourite shape so I''ll keep getting them.

Well I misread the title of the thread thought it said MY new finewater tsav...but hopefully a PSer will buy it. It looks lovely but of course the size is a bit small. Could be made into a lovely ring with diamond sides or a halo though....

AJ,
You take the loveliest pictures. Can you please come over and help me take pictures of my stuff?

But really, it looks just like Gary''s pictures. Other than size, do you like it?
