My cat finally passed away...

Some of you may remember me posting a few months ago about my cat Sophie who was dying of breast cancer.

My father just called me to say that she had died. I was going home on Friday and really hoped to see her one last time.

Apparently she slipped into a coma yesterday morning and then passed away in the early hours of this morning. She was a home and my parents stayed up all night with her.

My father says she wasn''t in any pain and didn''t suffer in any way.

I''m trying to remember that she had the most fantastic life any cat could have - a big garden, holidays by the seaside and compared with so many animals a huge amount of love and care.

I''m also glad that she was able to die at home in her basket with no stressful journeys - although the vet had said he''d come out any hour day or night if my parents needed him.

I really hate my animals passing away.

She was the runt of the litter and was all eyes and ears and not much else!

losing a beloved animal is hard they really are one of the family. She was such a beautiful Kitty who looked well loved.

You may not be able to yet but there will come a time when you can remember the good times and smile.

Pand, I am so very sorry for your loss. I too lost my precious Siamese baby a few years ago, they are wonderful cats.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I''m feeling a bit better this morning and I gave my hedgehogs extra hugs last night.

I know she had a wonderful life, and I''m trying to think of all the cats in the world that never know that kind of love - although that is quite upsetting in itself.

She''s the eighth one of my babies to pass away, it''s always upsetting at the time, but I can look back at all of them with great memories.
