Lower Half

Hello,

Can someone please explain to me what ''lower half'' means on a GIA report, and how it effects a diamond''s look.

I am looking at two stones and one has a lower half of 80% and the other one has 75%.

If this ''lower half'' value something to be considered?

Im not sure but I think lower half has to do with the lower half of the diamond rough used? Somome here should know.

It has a fairly large effect on the face up appearance.
GIA badly rounds the numbers to the nearest 5% so the GIA supplied numbers are less than useful.
