Hey everyone,
Well I am literally driving myself insane. I lost a very tiny stone in back of the claw prongs, on the halo of my ring. Now I had noticed an irregularity in my halo, but it was so tiny, I thought it was tiny little imperfection. As a matter of fact the stone was already missing when I posted pics of ring on pricescope. My boyfriend also noticed it when he picked up the ring.
So now the problem is HOW TO FIX THIS??? I live in Canada, and Leon Mege is in New York. I dread sending it back because my boyfriend has to cross the border to pick/ship and when he went to pick it up he got searched twice +hassled. I don''t want to go through it again. And believe it or not, if I ship it from Canada (just for this minsucule stone) they will charge me tax on the ring + setting again because "repairs" in Canadian governement terms, means "NEW".
So I went to Birks (Canadian Tiffany''s) and they said blah, blah it''s not a problem they can fix it. But I didn''t have the ring on me, and they wouldn''t let me talk directly to the jeweler that would do the work!! Which makes me worry because Birks has nothing like my setting, and Leon did tell me he had doubts about anyone "locally" being anble to do the work. So I''m having worries, will Leon''s setting get damaged if Birks does it? Is it just a matter of finding a tiny stone, and then pushing the little prong back in to hold it? Or are they going to have to mess with the miligrain?
ARGH I enjoyed the ring for one day
I''m not wearing it any more because it''s driving me crazy AND I''m terrified of damaging it furthur.
ANY advice would be REALLY, REALLY appreciated.
