Mmmmm, heels. I love them.

I usually wear 4"+ heels whenever I go out with DH for a night out, to dinner or the movies or an event, etc.
I wear shorter heels, around 2", to work about half of the time. I wear flats the other half of the time.

I feel great when I wear heels.

I'm 5'9.5" barefoot, and DH is 5'7.5" barefoot on a good day. :cheeky:
Lucky for me he loves tall women. Lucky for him I like shorter men.

Just a PSA: Jessica Simpson makes the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. I can order any pair of JS shoes from heels.com and know that they will feel great when I put them on my feet. Odd, but true, in my experience.

Yes but I don't wear them to work as I walk a lot and they are really damaging to your feet. I don't want gnarly feet in my old age, thanks. I have seen such patients in clinics years ago: enough to put me off heels apart from very occasionally.

I love heels and i would wear them every day if my legs didn't start being irritated by them - i get shin splints from wearing heels these days. Getting older really stinks. I wear a wedge for teaching and flats when I work at night.

Yes on special occasions. I wear Dansko as my every day work shoe.

Yes! I love my heels, mostly 3, at most 3 1/2 inches. Can't walk in anything more than 4 inches high. Love my louboutins (this forum and the other forum about the other vices other than bling has been bad)!

Took this pic before I wore these puppies out one night, you decide:

I love over the knee boots.

How on earth do you walk in those, AN? I'd fall over before taking one step.

Lots and lots of skill but I also learned real quick that I can't get drunk in them :)

When I was in my 20's I could run in 4" heels.

That was a long time ago.

The last time I wore anything other than clogs or a low wedge was when our younger daughter got married, and that was a 2'' heel. I'm at the point where I am indifferent to making that kind of fashion statement, and I've found that my trusty Dansko Professionals are a sufficient statement of feminine power--especially if I step backwards briskly onto someone's instep.

I love high heels although I don't get a chance to wear them much anymore and when I do I usually regret it. I used to be a pro a few years ago.

Here is my collection-or at least the part I have photographed. I can't get rid of them because I've invested so much $$ into them and I just love having them even if they don't get worn often ::)

A few more pairs :)

I also wanted to add that I don't really wear them that much anymore since my move from Texas to Canada a couple years ago because most of them are suede. I know there are treatments that you can use but does anyone have any recommendations of a brand that I can use that will make them resistant to the elements? Or a place I can take them to be cleaned and treated for a reasonable price?

AN: I love those boots on you! I can't wear the past the knee ones because they feel funny one me. I wish though bc I really think they'd help me stay warm in the winter time up here :D

ETA: The smears on the pictures are actually from my fingers and the dust they've collected in my closet. I should have kept all the boxes but I threw them out in my move. I've since dusted my shoes although they probably need it again

Ooooh, shoe pictures!

I snapped some shots of my current favorites. (For reference, the base molding is 3.5" high.
Here they are:
IMG_0867.jpg
L to R: Carlos Santana, Aldo, Jessica Simpson, Alfani, Jessica Simpson
IMG_0868.jpg
L to R: Bebe, Guess, Marc Fisher, Guess, Bebe
IMG_0870_0.jpg
L to R: Franco Sarto, Guess, Jessica Simpson

DH buys most of these for me. He orders what he likes, and then if they're comfortable, I keep 'em!

LV: Thank you! It's taken years of practice, I tell ya. YEARS. :cheeky:

As a child my mom used to buy me those pink and purple plastic heels. (What a terrible toy! Seriously!) But I loved them and wore them all the time. (I just did a quick Google search and couldn't find them. Now I'll have to do some digging.)

Anyway, I'm lucky to be married to a muscle specialist who treats me every day. I fear I would have some serious foot issues if I didn't get daily treatments.

I only wear the super high heels for evenings out. All of these shoes are comfortable enough for a night out, though. I return the ones that don't cut it.

ETA: I found the Marc Fishers in a discount department store, Marshall's or one of those. I rarely buy heels for myself because DH loves to pick them out, but I had to get these. The interesting thing is a Nordstrom employee went ga-ga over them one day. I was there buying a new pair of Minnetonka moccasins (I DO wear flats at times!) and she really wanted to get her hands on my shoes. When I told her they were already in the discount stores her face fell. It was funny.

DH buys most of them on heels.com.

I love wearing high heels-I can walk and run in them. I would be lost without them-they really make an outfit.

Wow Haven, you must really tower over your husband in those heels. Most of my heels are the height of your Franco Sarto boots. In fact, I'm wearing something like that, but ankle length today.

Honestly, I don't think I look that great on heels. I'm all legs and quite tall, do wear them on special occasions ::)

I like them well enough on other people but hate wearing them myself.

I use public transport, and the pavements where I live are horrendous. say, Haven did you make it over to Brussels on your trip? if so, you'll know what I mean. You can turn an ankle in trainers here. And I love walking, I'll walk everywhere time permitting. I like that loose-limbed devil-may-care striding that comes from secure feet. And if I can' run in 'em, I'm not wearing 'em - trams and busses wait for no man (or woman).

I do have one pair of killer heels for when we drive out somewhere in the evening and they are always getting attention. Black patents, white piping, verrrry tall heels, alice strap.

DF this sooo about you hoping for pix :wink2:

Ever since I had a kid, I hate heels! I have to wear them for work but they are OFF when I'm done. I actually keep them at work because I would NEVER wear them during my commute. No way! And I used to collect Louboutins, too. Now, I'm all about flip flops and the ooglie Uggs. Hahahahaha. Poor hubby!

ETA: AN, you look HAWT in those boots! Nice heels, ladies!!!

I don't wear them on a daily basis anymore (that stopped when I stayed home after my first child was born)...I think women prancing around a grassy, muddy park in high heels looks ridiculous! I do wear them whenever DH and I go out together. He's more than a foot taller than me, so it's nice to be at least chest height to him, otherwise, I have to find a step to get on the be able to kiss him!

Hi DF! Miss me?

Yes I can walk in them. Yes I think I look good in them. I can run in many of them.

Most of you will be surprised to know that I recently purged about 40 pairs of shoes from my collection of about 180-190. Storage space got chopped. I still have my Puccis, Casadeis, Kate Spades...I dearly miss wearing my heels...
