Mara!
I will have to go buy "My Boys Can Swim" for DH! It sounds hilarious!!!! It also sounds like one of those awesome books you read, enjoy and can pass on to other pregnant couples! Love it. We have one of those that is called "What is your poo telling you?" I bought it because it cracked me up and we passed it on to a friend of ours with a baby. So far, that book has made 10 rounds!

I am also taking your advice and appreciating my shape now before I get super huge!!!! Although, I can't wait to hit that stage, too! I just want to be huge or small. The in-between stage freaks me out a little. I don't know why!

Tacori!
Awww... THANKS!!! Yep, I think a couple of us will have long pregnancies because we found out so early. I kind of started hoping at 5DPO...with the twinges in my tummy. I hear you at wearing maternity pants! I already can't stand to wear anything constricting. I think it has more to do with how bloated I feel than how I look. Oh, and my boobs are FREAKISHLY big. I am actually embarrassed. The other day I was walking down the street and some truck driver honked at me because my boobs are so big and I felt like yelling, "HAVE SOME RESPECT! I'M CARRYING A BABY!" I can't wait until I'm a SUPA Granny! *smack*

Seriously, the boobs are so sore that I found myself tearing up yesterday when I had to take a shower. It hurt SO much to take my bra off! Is there a bra we can shower in? I have to buy new bras now. I'm like a D cup now. It's crazy... Let me see if I can find a picture of these crazy bazookas. I feel like a cow.

gingerB!
I am dying over the story you wrote in the Preggo thread!!!! I emailed DH about it! I can't wait until BlissBaby can kick! I'm gonna make it kick DH's booty ALL THE TIME! SOOOO CUTE!!!!!! OMG, so cute. I am dying over here from the cuteness factor.

The other day, I didn't feel any cramps so I said, "Baby, you still in there? Twinge for me if you are!" Total coincidence, I am sure...but I felt a MAJOR TWINGE! OUCH!!! Then I was like, "OMG, please don't twinge anymore!" And then it was, "OMG, can my baby hear me already?" No way... but still!
23.gif
Freaked me out!

Your cookie is fabulous!!!!! I am cracking up over the fact that the cookie was dressed in undies when you found it! LOLOLOLOLOL. SO funny!!!!!!!!!

NewShiny:
That is great news!!!!! I have an OBGYN appointment tomorrow, too!!!! She's supposed to be amazing and I'm so excited!!! I am sending you buckets of dust!!!!! You have to come back and tell us all about it!

Mara:
I know! I called a few OBGYNs and they are all so different. Some wouldn't see me until 7-9 weeks. Some wanted me to come in right away. It all depends, I guess! One thing I really took away from this experience is, the front office matters. I could tell the "vibe" of the place immediately by the front office - the office manager and whoever answered the phone.

If the front office members answering the phone were rude, condescending or abrupt - I crossed them off the list immediately. Not a happy place and not an office where they invest in caring, intelligent people. Of course I also go by referrals, but I pay keen attention to the front office. Of course, it's possible someone could be having a bad day... but in my experience, offices that are run well and by caring people invest in their staff, treat them like family and have a common mission of excellent care. It reflects in the actual service and I see it all the time, especially with dentists and other specialists!

Jas:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And thanks!!!!! Yes, we are so excited. We're calling MIL today and FIL tomorrow.
Wow, you are 8.5 weeks along? Amazing... I can't imagine being 8 weeks along! I am just praying to make it through the first trimester with no issues and maybe I'll feel better and not so scared afterwards. 8.5 weeks is wonderful. Oh, I just read that this is your second! How exciting!!!!! What a double blessing!!!! Yes, I am bloated. Mainly, I feel like my skin is too small for my insides. I need some expandable skin seams or something... you know, like they have those expandable zippers on luggage. I want to be like luggage. So I can expand. Now. LOL.

qtiekiki!!!!
Heehee, to going in at 5 weeks. Me, too. I need a flu shot! Like asap! Oh man, I don't have bad m/s yet. Darn! I would gladly go through insane m/s for a girl! LOL. I would also love a boy, but a girl would be extra special!!!! I just think it would be so great for me, my mom and DD to all meet. 3 generations of women. Would be so cool. But a boy would be awesome, too. Boys are so cute with their little duds!

And ha to the "meant to have lots of kids" comment. My mom has always told me I have childbearing hips so I'm destined to have tons of kids. If only! God willing, right? OK, not TONS of kids... but I'd love two.

OK, I felt brave enough to post a shot of the freakishly large mammaries for medical reference. Is anyone dealing with insanely huge bbs? They blew up overnight and are so heavy I feel like crawling on the ground. No more formfitting clothes... I feel like an adult entertainer with these huge cartoonish bazookas. They are so painful, I want to shower in a bra!!! My grandmother's boobs were so huge, she was rumored to have breastfed her kids while they were on her back! She'd just sling the bazookas over her shoulder and they'd breastfeed that way! Is this in my future???

Ginger--
Haha....that is the cutest thing.
I didn''t know that your gingerbread lady was preggo until you mentioned it...then I looked closer.
So is it going to grow bigger to represent your growing belly?

Congrats to all the new mommies!

OMG, you ladies are killing me!! I am so glad I didn''t find out I was preggo until I was almost 12 weeks!! I also had my daughter 3 weeks early so I had a very short time to "think" about pregnancy. It''s a good thing too! I would probably have gained a lot more weight.

Bliss, you better enjoy your big girls while you can, because your baby may suck the life out of them like my daughter did. I was a C cup when I was 10 years old (started my menses at 9...ugh) I was HUGE when I was pregnant and BF''ing...now I am lucky to fill a B. When I gain weight like I recently did, I could probably push a C, but that would be for ego''s sake only.

Ginger, you''re sooo cute.

Bliss , enjoy them, they will get bigger...

That''s how my friends knew I was preggo. I am flat chested, and they grew so big. They looked at me and said you''re pregnant. I was like oh too soon to tell. Took the test the next day and BFP. Funny how that works.

bliss, oh my goodness dolly! I can''t help but wonder what they looked like pre-BFP. I am a a cup on my best days, is it wrong that I am looking forward to a bigger chest? I''m more full chested right now, but not really bigger.

ginger, that is great!

had my beta test today. Will likely get results tomorrow. Wow, posting from my phone is very time consuming.

I like the original gingerbread preggo. LOL.

Bliss
I went from B to D during my last pregnancy, and was probably bigger postpartum while BFing but I was living in nursing tank and didn''t know my size. Since my boobs never had time to go back down in size before getting pregnant again, I am now up to DD. I hope they don''t get bigger after b/c I hate them.

NewShiny
Good luck with your beta.

wow bliss --yep, preggo boobies ! You are so tiny everywhere else so your belly will even it out soon enuf.

Well, i am nearly 9 weeks and no boobage growth, pain or anything. Actually, they may be back to their pre-breastfeeding state (BF sucked the life outta them!) but even with my last pregnancy i only grew max one cup size, and they didn't get much bigger when my milk came in. And that sucks, b/c i am small chested and woudl like the boobs!
8.gif

ETA--QtT, ya, everyone is prediciting a girl based on the MS and the fact that with Co i gained 12 lbs in the first tri (however, started out lower than my usual weight) but haven't gained a pound yet with this one...just bloat. I don't have a gender feeling either way. Just feel plain 'ol pregnant .

apparently some lucky ladies don''t ever get bb''s that much bigger than before. grass is always greener i guess but that sounds divine! all i can say is that these suckers better WORK or else i''ll be really mad. i also think that it''s ridiculous they get so big so fast, hello got a bit of time before the baby is here!! mother nature is a jokester.

jas, i had bad MS (just nausea) almost 12-16 hours a day for about 5 weeks but we still have a boy in there. hehe. i also have heard the whole ''craving carbs'' then it''s a boy thing...well i go through a box of cereal every 4 days. and i never used to eat much cereal. and i love potatoes and have all thru the preg. baked, mashed, hashed, whatever. carb enough?!?!

Hello
35.gif

I love the idea of this thread.

As a newly pregnant lady, these first weeks/months have been really tough. It took us a nice long while to get knocked up, so I kind of vacillate between being so very, very excited that it finally happened to oh my gosh please don''t go away.

We had our first ultrasound last week and it wasn''t the magical moment that I hoped it would be. The dr. was very, very rushed and they identified something called a subchorionic hemorrhage which is basically a blot clot that can cause a lot of havoc. we left that appointment with a picture of our fetal pole and a whole lot of worry. google did not help.

we had our second ultrasound this morning and what a difference a week can make. I''m right around 7wks and we now have a perfectly tiny little baby, with a perfectly tiny little heartbeat (134) and no more clot.

it feels so good to after the infertility road/pregnancy complication to finally be "normal"
36.gif

now I think that I can start enjoying it all.

congratulations to everyone else

Ginger--oh yaaaa, now i see the pregnant gingerbread in the avi! teehehe

mara--i don''t think my family has the girl theory based on the MS per se, more that i have a major symptom with this pregnancy but did not with the last (if my skin broke out terribly this pregnancy they would focus on that since they all want the girl). They just assume that if the pregnancy is so different feeling it must be b/c of the different gender
20.gif
. Forget the whole idea that every pregnancy is totally different--they ignore that bit of scientific fact .

lulu, I''m following your story so I''m really glad to hear everything is going well! I''ll keep sending sticky vibes your way!

Regarding boobs, I''m one of those teeny tiny barely A cup girls who was hoping for some growth during pregnancy but it never happened! They got fuller but not bigger until...holy crap, when my milk came in after giving birth I was like a **** star!!! They were gigantic and painful because I didn''t BF so they became engorged--I couldn''t even enjoy them! But they quickly went back down to normal and I''m still a fairly flat-chested chick.
8.gif

ginger, you are too funny! Love the preggo cookie!

Bliss, I''m enjoying all of your exuberant posts! You are so tiny everywhere else that your boobs probably look bigger than they really are but your belly will catch up soon!!

Good luck, ladies! Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies!

Lulu! I''m so glad that you''re here. I''ve been thinking of you and hoping that everything is going okay. How are you feeling?

Curly, at least you had a bigger chest for a little while, though I''m sorry it was painful.

My mom said she was an A like me before she got pregnant, then became a DD and they never went away. I think I''d like to settle somewhere in between. But like everything else on this road, we have no control over it.

Got my beta number back this morning. 11,782. WOO HOO! Right on track for about six weeks. Last time, my beta never went above 3,000. I go in next Thursday for an ultrasound. It is going to be a very, very long week.

great beta new shiny!!

my (*)(*)s seem to be holding steady and that''s fine with me
3.gif
What isn''t fine is the bloat. It''s ridiculous. I think that it might have a little something to do with my lack of *regularity* since becoming pregnant. not something I have ever dealt with before and something I wish would go away right quick. I''m trying apricots.
26.gif
But, I really have nothing to complain about since morning sickness hasn''t really taken hold. I have smell aversions and some naseau, but nothing too bad at all.

We''re off to my MIL for the weekend for a pre-Thanksgiving. It''s still too early in our minds to be sharing the news with anyone, so I''m wondering how it will go. She always has mighty delicious wine and I am always a taker. I hope my "no thank yous" don''t tip her or anyone else off...

hi curly

PRUNE JUICE works great for helping out with preggo constipation. just drink it very sparingly and give it a little time to work before consuming more, or else you might be sorry.

Ooo, regarding regularity, I started eating Raisin Bran for breakfast every morning at the beginning of my pregnancy and my problems went away. I''ve had little to no problems since. So I recommend that!

Congrats to all the new Mommies!

thanks for the suggestions.

I picked up some single-serving prunes at the grocery store, but didn''t love the taste. Maybe I can better stomach their juice. Unfortunately, I have no love for raisin bran, but might have to give it a whoorl...

Hellooooo friends!!
35.gif
Sorry for starting this thread and then not participating much yet! I''ve been suuuper busy at work these past few days, but my day off (yes, I only get 1 a week! booooo!) is tomorrow, so I''m enjoying my evening without worrying about getting in bed in time.
9.gif

Bliss, whoa momma! Those are impressive. LOL!! And you''re soooo tiny!! You''re gonna be such a cute preggo lady....I bet you''ll have one of those cute basketball bellies where you can''t even tell you''re preggo from behind.
9.gif
My bbs haven''t really gotten bigger yet...fuller, I guess, but not much bigger. They''ve been somewhat tender, but really itchy!! I guess that means the skin is stretching, so they must be getting bigger even if I don''t notice much yet! And today I noticed more prominent blue veins all over them. Oh, also, I LITERALLY LOL''ed at the professor from big brain academy...TOO FUNNY!!! I love how you drew the little hat and moustache on the embryo. You are hilarious!!
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif

Lulu, congrats on your 2nd US!!! I can''t wait till we have ours....I''m assuming my doc will likely do one at my 1st prenatal visit, which will be at 7.5 weeks (on Nov 30th). Part of me wants to go in sooner, but on the other hand, maybe it''s just better to wait until there''s something more to look at. I will probably worry until we''re able to see the heartbeat anyway. Sorry your 1st visit wasn''t so great, but so glad you had the second one to redeem it!!

Ginger, your preggo gingerbread girl is soooo cute!!
9.gif

NewShiny, congrats on that awesome beta!!! That rocks!! And I''m sending patience dust to get you through till your ultrasound!

Meresal, thanks for the congrats!!! And I''m glad you''re joining us here too! How far along are you now?

Kaleigh, thanks again for your sweet best wishes!! *hugs*

Robbie, little D is SOOOOO ADORABLE. Just love your avatar!! I bet you''re proud of that handsome boy.
9.gif

Fiery, your avatar is also ridiculously cute. Sooo precious!! I just wanna squeeze those little chubby cheeks!!

Tacori, that''s when I found out too...actually closer to 3 weeks than 3.5!! It was only 9 DPO. Early BFP''s are a blessing in one sense (short TWW!!) but a curse in another (don''t get to meet my baby for 8 more months!!).

Jas, we won''t kick you out!!! You''re still allowed. :) We''ve got some ladies that are past 24 weeks posting in here too (you know who you are! hehehe) so I don''t think we''ve got a limit. Us just-barely-preggos will welcome any words of wisdom from those of you who have been there and done that!

Qtiekiki, that''s awesome you didn''t have any MS with either pregnancy. I haven''t had any nausea so far, just a bit of indigestion, so I''m keeping my fingers crossed. But I am only 4 weeks, so there''s still plenty of time for it to start up....wish me luck!

Burk, I just bought a nice new sports bra tonight...have it on right now. Ahhhhhhhhhh. Feels so good. I think I''ll be wearing it a lot in the months to come, if it still fits!! :)

Mara, that nausea doesn''t sound like it was much fun. What did you do to deal with it? I''d like to know what my options are before it hits so I can be prepared....

CurlyGirl, thanks for the well-wishes!!
9.gif

JCrow, congrats to you too, lady!! How have you been feeling?

---------------------------------------------------------

So I haven''t been having that many symptoms, just itchy slightly sore boobies with blue veins on them, along with a bit of bloat. Not horrible though. Oh, and my bowels got quite upset the other day (ugh), but they''re better now. I peed on a stick again yesterday, just to make sure. LOL. The 2nd line started coming up within about 10 seconds, and after 10 minutes it was almost as dark as the control line.
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif

My tummy isn''t super flat to begin with (have always had a little bit of a pooch!) so I''m not noticing much difference yet. Wonder how long I''ll be in my regular pants....

I''m still somewhat in disbelief about this whole thing. It''s like, I can''t feel it in there, is it really real?!!??! I''ll kick myself for saying this later, but I almost wish I had a few more symptoms to make me feel more pregnant! LOL. But it''s early yet (4 weeks today!) so I''m sure they''ll develop and I''ll want to get rid of them all once I''ve got them.
9.gif

Actually, I have been suuuuper tired.....and on that note, I''m going to bed! Talk to you guys tomorrow....

Congrats everyone! I also started a thread like this back in June 2008 when there were a few of us pg at the same time.

Bliss I went from a DD to a G cup
23.gif
when I was preggo! LOL! I think some of that may have been the extra 50 lbs or so that I gained
20.gif
but most was just good ol'' fashioned pg hormones.

Lulu I am so happy for you, did I mention that?
9.gif
I''m so glad that your second us was all clear. I like dried prunes better than any other way, they are chewy and yummy. Also can buy baby food prunes and mix with oatmeal, as I do with Hunter all the time to keep him regular.

HMG... nausea was NOT fun but i knew that so many other ladies have it way worse so i just kept reminding myself of that and that it was a 'finite period of time'. it worked sometimes. i used caffeine to help... i have never been a soda drinker but i had about a coke a day (~90mg caffeine i think?) when i felt really bad, esp at work. at home it was not so bad to control, you could lay on the couch and just relax...but during work when you have to function and feel sick, not fun! plus the sugar in the soda helped calm the nausea as well i think. pretty much only coke or pepsi worked for me. i also would get heartburn along with the nausea...and i had extra saliva for weeks. i read that extra saliva is a symptom of the heartburn and can increase nausea. so really it's like a trifecta.

i tried those ginger chews that TJ's has but i don't like ginger in general so i just started associating 'feeling sick' with ginger which was counter productive. i did like the ginger milk tea that some asian markets have...it was more soothing to my stomach.

but it goes away like with most of the phases of pregnancy... i was SO grateful when it did. at about 20 weeks was when i felt normal again in terms of what i could and wanted to eat, didn't have as much heartburn after 15 weeks, and i wouldn't get up and be nauseated first thing in the morning. oh super important for me was i kept either apple juice or 1% choco milk on hand and i would literally get up in the morning, walk into the kitchen and pour 4oz of a drink and chug it. having something in my stomach immediately totally helped set the stage for how the whole DAY would go. funny but true.

as for POTS (it took me weeks to figure out what that was originally)... when we found out it was about 15 days past ovulation about 3 days after missing my period, and the 2nd line came up super dark within SECONDS. no mistaking that! but i'd already had some pre-symptoms with really increased sense of smell, sore bb's and portia was suddenly obsessed with smelling my breath. so i was pretty sure, but waited a few days to take a test.

lulu...i just pour the juice and chug it without tasting it. i only drink about 4oz in a day though, honestly it is powerful so be careful. even if you don't have anything crazy happen, your stomach will be really 'active' all day.

dd... G!?!?!?! wow i am suddenly grateful for my 'just' D's.

Mara, thanks for the input! I will remember the "get something into the tummy asap in the morning" trick. Choco milk sounds yummm.
9.gif
I had a "real" Coke for the first time in I-can''t-remember-when this morning, and it was reallllllly good. Sat well in my tummy. I''m just so paranoid about getting sick that I want to be prepared if it starts happening...i hate throwing up! LOL. I have some waves of nausea this evening at dinner just after finishing my meal, but now feel better after digesting a bit...maybe I ate too fast? Other than that, tummy has been OK so far.

Boobs are itchy and really starting to hurt now! I POAS that I had left over for fun today (today is 18DPO) and the preggers line came up immediately, before the control! And it was actually darker than the control line!
9.gif
Makes me feel good to know that placenta''s getting bigger and pumping out more HCG!

Off to bed...I''m sleeping for 2 now, yanno. :)
