If she liked the .80ct and thought the 1.0ct was too gaudy (though the sizes aren''t too different), I''d stick to what she liked. Not all women want big diamonds. If you still want to go bigger, I wouldn''t go over 1 carat.

BrownEyes, Ebree, thanks so much for the feedback. I am starting to lean more towards going for a 1 carat-ish ring. Sort of a happy medium. Now, I just need to choose between H color and I color for the stone. Oh, and don't worry - I will definitely post pictures once the ring is complete!
