I remember Barry sending me a picture of that stone a very long time ago. If I recall properly, it was part of his personal collection (I could be wrong, it was a long time ago). In any case he thought it might contain copper, but to me, it doesn''t look like a typial cuprian, which are more turquoise in color, but more like a nice Afghan tourmaline. I certainly hope whoever got it will post pictures!! Very pretty stone.

I''m taking a wild stab at guessing that it''s simplysplendid?

It is very usual for a tourmaline to have such a colour combined with the size. Whoever purchased it will be happy to get such a stone.

Hi SS, congrats on your purchase -
I''d be very interested to hear your thoughts once it arrives.
Already, the photo on the site looks quite different than one
that Barry had sent me, so I''d love to hear your impressions IRL.

SS - lovely stone,

I would love to hear your impressions of it too. I think mine might have come from the same deposit as yours because Berry told me he had 2 stones from that deposit being tested for copper when I bought my stone.

Hehe, I would LOVE to see his personal collection!
Apparently if I hadn''t bought the tsav, he was going to put it into his collection, makes me wonder how he decides what makes the cut.

The ruby went back to his collection after I sent it back. I am not sure he really wanted to sell it in the first place.

Thanks everyone!

AJ, why didn''t you get this when you saw the pictures? I bought it when I first saw it on the site on Sunday.

Hi SS..no real answer, dithering really. Basically I had purchased two gems already from the drop (including a blue-green tourm), before this one came to my attention.
I was waiting for those two to arrive, so I could then decide about the em. cut, but I didn't realize it had been listed and you beat me to it

The perils of waiting for international shipping, lol..

That's okay, I've got a feeling I'm after one with abit more blue, hopefully my stone is still waiting out there

Have you received it as yet?

Ah, I see.
I haven''t received it yet and I hope to get it in a few days. It takes almost two weeks for international delivery via regular registered mail. Fortunately for me, Barry discovered that shipping to Singapore via Express costs only marginally more than regular registered so I will be getting this shipped to me via Express. Apparently shipping to many other countries, especially UK, cost a lot more via Express. I guess the difference in cost is due to the difference in the local cost of shipping express at the destination country and Singapore is a tiny country, so I believe the cost difference is marginal.

Hey ltl - no no, I''ve had them since earlier in the week, I''ve just
been getting home after dark every day - I may have time for pics
this w''end.
Both are very pretty, but I''m undecided atm - mainly because I want
something *bigger*

Oh, I didn''t realize you were O/S too SS - so you can feel my pain on the shipping waiting game, lol!
I think the Express vs Registered is pretty similar for here too, however after my postal torture recently I''m insisting on the slow, but importantly reliable, registered

Please remember to post once you get it.
