I think mine were $375, but they could have been $275. My salon charged a flat rate for alterations so we knew before we bought the dress what they would cost.

I wore a Melissa Sweet gown, so it was made to fit my height so we didn''t need to hem it. But the seamstress did an amazing job fitting that gown exactly to my waist and bust, and I absolutely adored my bustle. The gown cost something around $3500, so the alterations were around 10% of the cost. I think it was totally worth it, as I wore a strapless gown and never once had to pull it up during the entire wedding. Talk about fitting like a glove.

My alterations were $65. The seamstress hemmed it, bustled it, and brought in the bust a bit.

Just because I''m curious, obviously it''s done and over with, but why did you not just get another dress? Or even a smaller one of the same dress? 10 sizes?! Holy moly!

About $250. I had to order a size up because of my big booty, so once we had the dress it had to be taken in one size in the bust, and two sizes in the waist. I also had a french bustle done.

I ordered a custom hem length because (a) I''m short, (b) I wore flats, and (c) my dress wasn''t hem-able. That was $150. So if you count that, total was $400.

I can''t vote for my wedding dress, because my mom hasn''t got the bill yet (she offered to pay). I imagine it will be in the $500 range because she did a lot of work to it - taking in the bust, waist and hips, altering the top from straight to sweetheart, changing the straps, lowering the bodice, hemming (all lace), bustling the crinoline and the dress, and sewing in cups. Yikes.

To hem my RD dress was $15 though.

I believe the cost of my alterations was included in the price of the dress, but I did have to pay like $12 for them to sew in breasts.

LMAO!

I anticipate spending WAY less than $100 since I believe it only needs to be hemmed...then again with a pleated hem, it will need very careful pressing...

I bought my dress at the Pronovias flagship store in NYC, where they include alterations in the price of the dress.

So... nothing :D

$250ish (I got a bit off for paying in cash...)
She had to have it cleaned (it was a sample costing less than $300), let out the bust, fill in the crystals/embroidery on the side, take in the waist, french bustle it (2xs because I am picky), then retook in the bust when I lost a bit of boob weight from pneumonia, and then ironed and prepared it for a long flight. Whew, I feel like I owe her more than that!

I can finally answer this question as I had my first fitting today. $425!!!

I talked it down from $450 too....
She was telling me that it would be a substantial amount of work.
They have to take in pretty much every angle of the dress, so I knew it would be a lot of work, but
it is just so much more than I thought.

I purchased a sample and between alterations and dry cleaning, I am tacking on an extra $600 for the dress.

Sigh. I'm just hoping I can sell the gown after I wear it to retrieve some of te costs.

FYI, I live in NYC and am having my alterations in Manhattan.

Just under 400.

Let out the hem, bustle, sew in cups, put in new modesty panel for corset back.
