I was talking with Irina this morning
realized this deal has cost me a lot of money.
Can you guess why?

Good guess, Pyramid! I can see how a boulder like that could cause an attack of the much dreaded Shrinkage Syndrome...

you forgot to mention that she has money to burn! seriously: set it low --i like Ana''s pix. a solitaire is too engagement-y. this is not an e-ring its a serious statement and should be treated as suchDate: 10/12/2005 3:59:48 AM

This is for a lady with a smallish finger, who is not married, middle aged and does not want it to look like an engagement ring.
She does not want to frighten off ''blokes''.
She has had a low simple 5 1/2ct solitaire in a basket 6 wire with plain plump shoulders, and is trading up.
It will be on her right hand.
I could suggest a halo sort of under the stone with a ballerina wave, but cant find any photo''s here?
But she will want it simple (it is a nice bit of ice all by itself, and needs not a lot).
Stone is +13mm

Her daughter is getting the 5ct and I get back the 3.15 F VS1 I sold a couple of years back. (Strong blue BTW and they just love the fluoro!!).
As it happens I am resetting Drena''s 3.04ct E sI1, and thought - it would be easier to sell the E SI1 - there is a 25% price difference, so Drena gets the F VS1.
But since the trade is cash negative for me, and Drena gets an upgrade, I / biz loose out all round big time!!!!
I told Drena the deal is conditional on the F VS1 being available for sale; she said:
''sure, you can upgrade me any time!''

I am sure there are 1 or 2 other options that do not require breaking up your marriage

Uhhhhh...it was a joke? I guess you didn''t get it. My hubby isn''t in the diamond biz, and I still get plenty of diamonds.

Allrighty. No offense taken then. I'm also very happily married (just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary two weeks ago). It all works out in the end...your wife gets a good deal on upgrades, I get a good deal on my prescriptionsDate: 10/15/2005 2:12:44 AM

It is not to be taken as a joke at your expense SuziQ - it is just a little bit of boy to girlS ribbing that I have been known to be inclined to partake in.

I meant no personal offense.
I am very happily married, and believe strongly in the institution
