Hello, I'm new to this forum and have just a simple question regarding an engagement ring I am looking to purchase. Hopefully some1 can help me since i am CLUELESS on what all this stuff means. ANY help would be appreciated!! I have very little time left to decide on this ring for my fiance, so ANY advice/help given would be helpful!!!

Carat/Cut:: 1.72 Marquise Cut
Clarity: SI2
Color: J (Near Colorless)
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
Measurements: 11.56 x 6.4 x 3.99--this is my major issue since i have no idea if that is a good size or if its just long and thin!
Depth: 62.3%
Table: 60%

1. I''m not an expert by any means, and I don''t own a marquise.

But having said that, and according to some fancy-shape cut guidelines, your l to w ratio of 1.81 results in an eye-pleasing shape for your marquse...not too long and thin. The depth and table %ages are also in the desirable range. And as for ct size, well, I would graciously accept a 1.72 ct stone of any shape.
