I lived in Kuwait from 3-9. My father worked for Chemical Bank in NYC at the time and was sent to teach the Kuwaitis how to run their national bank (Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait). It actually was a wonderful place to grow up in and it was "home" more than the US was for a long time. That's when drive-thrus became popular and my parents had no idea how to use them at first back in the US. My sister and I experienced major, major culture shock moving to NC after.
I've also lived in England for 1.5 years- one semester in London in college and one year in Manchester volunteering in the prison there. I loved both experiences!
