Now that the hard part is over...
I ended up selecting a beautiful Leo diamond that sparkles and shines beautifully. I''m trying to select a setting, but I had some questions. I''m probably going with a more-simple-than-ornate yellow gold semi with just a few diamonds on the side (or maybe even a solitaire???). My questions are these:
Should I be concerned with selecting 18k gold over 14k gold? What about for the prongs themselves?
Should I secure the diamond with 4 prongs or 6? The diamond is round, and I''ve heard that 4 prongs make the diamond look square. I''ve also heard that 6 prongs blocks a significant amount more light than their 4 prong counterparts.
Thanks to all who helped me with my previous diamond question. I''m much less worried about the setting since I know the diamond will blow her away (pics coming soon...hopefully!).
