h color -- "faces up white"?

I had a reputable online dealer use this phrase to me today. I mentioned that I wasn''t sure if I wanted to drop to an h in color and she said that because it''s such a perfect cut that it will "face up white". I''ve never heard of this phenomenon and would like some other opinions. I thought color is color -- and that only a bit of flourescence would help reduce the visibility of color.

The D-Z graded diamonds are color graded pavilion up so that the true body color is visible. The face up color can be called the apparent color and is influenced by such factors as cut parameters, fluorescence, etc. Thus, the color you see face up can be made to look slightly better with some of the ideal cut proportions and slightly worse with other proportions such as some deep/steep cut stones.

Shape of the stone and brilliant faceting vs. step cut faceting also have an effect on apparent, face-up color.

I have a J that faces up whiter than my mom''s G earrings due to a great cut and a little fluorescence. So, yes, definitely, H can definitely face up white.

I'm not sure faint flour. helps much...I have a 1.2 pendant H, med flourescence, ideal cut and it's quite white. I am more than satisfied with it.

My H also has slight flour, and it faces up very white . My jewler thought it was a higher color and couldnt believe it was only an H. I can see no yellow upside down or otherise. I only see a difference if Im holding it up to an F.
