This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to find a H&A ideal-cut stone in the online inventory of common diamonds that all vendors share. While there seems to be an endless supply of poorly-cut stones in this database, I am wondering whether the occasional great find with ideal proportions and light performance exists. Or, do you have to stick with the WF ACAs and GoodOldGolds of the world to find these H&A stones?

Thanks for your help!

some times you get lucky but most of them that are h&a are cut that way on purpose and extra time is spent cutting them and extra rough is cut off they will often go to the specialty dealers because the cutter needs the higher selling price to get there costs out of it.

You can probably save a lot of time by contacting the vendors directly to discuss your needs. Since H&A stones are more expensive, the price would not be competitve with other stones of similar size and color on the multiple listing. Also, it is very difficult to find a H&A in the larger sizes.
