Got the ring, need help with pics!

So I have the ring!!!!

BUT...I can''t seem to take good pictures!!! Can someone tell me how to take awesome pics? I tried to keep the camera steady, and I also tried the close setting thing on my camera....so if anyone has some advice... I really cant wait to show you guys!!! So thanks if anyone can help!

look at your camera''s settings, do you see a flower icon or a macro setting? This enables close ups. Also, try in a bright room/outside w/o the flash.
