I was thinking about this over the weekend, and this ugly thought popped up in my head; If the kids did purposely injure the bunny, you should know that animal cruelty in children is an early sign of psychosis. And psychosis tends to run in families.

Injuring animals has nothing to do with psychosis. I think you are confusing psychosis with psychopath. If you are not, please cite reliable sources for your information. This will definitely be an education for me, someone who has studied the subject of mental illness for years.
