The tiaras look amazing! Hope London based PSers can go and if pics allowed pls take some and share with us.

R epresenting a rare and historic gathering of fine jewels, this exhibition draws together over 40 outstanding tiaras including examples with British and European royal provenance. The assembled exemplars, most handed down through families for generations and seldom loaned for public display, include the Spencer Tiara worn by Diana, Princess of Wales on her wedding day. Their range reflects successive design evolutions in the format, prompted by monarchic taste, societal shifts and the influence from other art forms, through to contemporary jewellers redefining tiaras today. Included are a number of tiaras, available for purchase, from the new generation of contemporary British jewellery designers redefining the format again today.

I can't make it, shame, as it would have been a feast to my eyes!

P.S. I probably shan't say no to any of them, however, I have always liked the Spencer tiara for its scroll design. :kiss2:

I like these the best based on pics on the site. Which tiaras do you like?

Oh that emerald one designed by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria is drool worthy
Kind of sad its so far off the main line of the royal family now but at least its still with her descendents and they loan it out for exhibitions for us to enjoy

Nooooooooooooooooooo :(2 :(2 :(2 :(2 :(2 :(2 :(2 :(2

I have two camping trips in June, plus to help with the organisation of a free large outdoor event for Sunday 12 June 2022.

In addition, a return ticket to London by train will cost over 100 GBP if I book today!

Hey ho!

I associate that tiara too much with Princess Diana hence didn’t choose it. Not that I dislike her, just too much baggage in that sense. Lol. As if I would ever get it wear it right?

Shame you can’t go. It would be a feast for the eyes indeed.

I was going to say I like that tiara because of its shape and design, not because of its association to a certain person, and decided against it.

That emerald and diamond diadem is stunning!
I have to go to London for the day on Monday (to pick up my early birthday jewellery!) so will try to swing by and take some pics. You are right @dk168 the prices of trains to London are no joke. I just paid £98.00 when it used to cost @£70 for a day ticket :/

It would have been cheaper if I go by coach, however, it would take 3h each way, and I can't really take a day off work between my two camping trips.

3 hours on a bus and then home again
bu**er that ! especially in the middle of a pandemic
There will be other opportunities in the future to see an exhibition like this, especially including most of those tiaras with the royal connection

I had been to a few jewellery related exhibition in the past, so I don't feel I am missing out too much.

If it wasn’t half term I’d have been tempted to invite myself to join you! I have booked tickets for the Tiffany anniversary exhibit that’s on for a couple of months though - I’d be happy with just the Breakfast at Tiffany items they’re showing, but the Tiffany diamond is the icing on the cake.

Oooh! That’s what I plan to see at my next trip to London! I’ll also be going to Masterpiece https://www.masterpiecefair.com/ I’ve tried on some insanely stunning pieces of jewellery I’d never be able to afford at this fair.

Thanks @lissyflo for mentioning the Tiffany exhibition, and I have just booked to attend!

I am already in London for a show that afternoon and had not bought my train tickets, hence I could make the 10:00 show in the morning, woo hoo!

I just hope this catches on again so we can finally wear ours.

Seems so over-the-top on Zoom calls now.

Hard to argue with that emerald one above that looks like an Edgerton flash-frozen droplet...

Am I right in thinking the Tiffany exhibition is free, as I was ready to pay and was surprised to find no payment was needed!

989E108B-30DF-456C-8A54-495FF19E1168.jpeg I never thought I’d be a tiara girl myself, and wore flowers in my hair to my own wedding. This was my first time seeing 1920’s style that would fit in my extra long thick hair

Each section is detachable to be worn as dress clips/ broaches!!!

Calling @daisysanddiamonds as she’s likely to know who owns and wore that bottom incredible tiara
