"Dream A Little Dream" -- I like the Mama Cass version, but there are several others.

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you."
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me.

Say "Night-ie night" and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this.

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this.

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me.

But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me...

*I guess you could look at it as being a little bittersweet, but it has been our song since I made him dance in the aisle in Wal-Mart at 1:00 AM all those years ago.

We aren''t engaged yet...but we''ve talked about it and would go with "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.

So pretty!

Ours was ''Grow Old With You'' from the Wedding Singer soundtrack. It''s the one that Adam Sandler sings to Drew Barrymore on the plane at the end of the movie. You know, ''I wanna make you smile whenever you''re sad, carry you around when your arthritis is bad. Oh, it would be so nice growing old with you...'' It was short and sweet!!
This thread has gotten me thinking and as I was reading the new posts I started thinking about this song! So far on my list I have this one, Your Song- Mouline Rouge version, and Forever-the version Jesse sang to Becky at their wedding on Full House. Haven''t mentioned any of these to FI yet so I don''t know what he thinks. I''m guessing he''ll like Grow old with you because it''s short and he hates dancing.

we did ''Have I told you Lately'' by Rod Stewart. that was a hard thing to pick because we really don''t/didn''t have a ''song''.

we both thought the words were very symbolic and meaningful.
This was also our song but we danced to the Van Morrison version.

You''re so right, Rosebud- the words are very symbolic and meaningful!

HA!! This was the song that was "performed" at our ceremony. One friend played the guitar, and another sang. It was a hit, and got a lot of laughs/smiles from our guests.

Slightly off topic, but when a song is performed during the ceremony, when does it happen?

Ours was done towards the end of the ceremony, after the exchange of the rings and before the pronouncement (by the authority given to me by the state of CA...), kiss and annoucement.

I''m sure it varies, but our song fit in well at that point.

Ours will be "Time In A Bottle" by Jim Croce. Short and sweet. Not many people have ever heard of it, it''s kind of old, but you should look up the lyrics. They are so meaningful!

We danced to "Our Love is Here to Stay" - there are many versions, but we chose Natalie Cole''s. It was sweet but not gaggy-sappy, and it had a bit of a cocktail-lounge sound, which meshed well with the feel of the wedding. We don''t have a song, so we had to go looking for one! (And it''s short, which Kyle liked!)

It''s very clear, our love is here to stay
Not for a year but ever and a day
The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go

But oh, my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we''re going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble
They''re only made of clay
But our love is here to stay

The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go
Oh, my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we''re going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble
They''re only made of clay
Oh, but our love is here
Our love is here
But our love is here to stay
To stay
