"Fat" Arrows VS. "Skinny" Arrows

I was just wondering why some stones have fatter arrows and why some are skinnier. Does it make any difference in terms of light performance? Is one better than the other? Does it have to do with the size of the diamond? Any info would be great! Thanks!!

It makes a huge difference in how the light is returned from the diamond and can have an impact on how much is returned.
