Hi there fellow Pricescopers!

I'm rather new to the site, but I've been lurking around and learning a lot about diamonds and forming my idea of what I want my engagement ring to look like. I have found a diamond that looks good on paper to me, but would like your opinions/insight.

The diamond I have my eye on right now:

(Is this a good price? Can I do much better without a huge increase in price?)

The following are what I look for in a diamond:

--Cut: Ideal
--Clarity: VS2 and up (but have nothing wrong with an eye-clean SI2)
--Carat: .50-.70
--Color: H and up (or J-I with strong blue fluorescence)
--Polish: Very good and up
--Symmetry: Very Good and up
--Oh and Shape! lol: Round

As for the setting, I've found a couple styles that I really like. My preference is a white gold split shank pave setting...

This was my favorite...

...until I saw this one!

What do you think? Do you have any recommendations?

Almost forgot to mention our budget for diamond + setting: $2300

I'd greatly appreciate any advice/suggestions

Thank you in advance!

do you want us to make stone suggestions for you? I prefer the first setting that you selected, because I like the head better. I don't like peg heads, they seem flimsy to me, so I would go with the first one, unless they can modify the head on the second.

Thanks Christina, I'll take that into consideration. And yes, I would greatly appreciate stone suggestions.

BN stone looks promising from the numbers but call and ask them to make sure that the blue fluor is not an over-blue that makes the stone look hazy/oily in sunlight.

Thanks Stone-cold11! I hadn't thought of that, but I will ask.
