I''m a newbie at diamond shopping and I''m thinking of buying the ideal scope and the 10x gem loupe.

I''ll probably buy diamonds that are already set. Is there any other instrutments that I will need when I shop for diamonds? Thanks very much!

Should do pretty good with the loupe and an ideal-scope with some education and practice thrown in.
If you can practice with both on a diamond you allready have if you have one before going to the store.

What''s the difference between the beginner''s ideal-scope and expert ideal-scope other than the magnification? Does the latter allow a better assessment of light leakage? Thanks!

The pink reflectors are the same. One has +5X and the other close to 10x lenses. One is plastic and the other is glass and steell.

The plastic scope does a good job. Only if you are very fussy and looking closely at patterning would you need to spend the extra
