Very cool! It has a very victorian sort of feel to the pattern.

Very nice - I love the pattern of the agate.

I am curious, though, as to the advantages of white gold plating.

It takes me quite sometime searching for a pattern that I like in a smaller size like this, usually they are BIG! If you remembered I had posted another dendritic agate some time back. Its pretty too, but just way too big to work on;-)

To prevent tarnish? Although I have no idea why WG instead od platinum, unless PT isn''t often used where ChicTomato is.

I think that could be the reason. Most goldsmith, jeweller here works with 18k wg and 22k yellow gold, not so much on platinum, even far rarer for palladium which is quite often use in the States? However over here 14k and below wg/yg is not considered as valuable. So do you mean 18k wg plated 925 silver will not tarnish as easily? what if the wg plating wears off? can it be replated? tks

Yes, that is my guess. And yes, it can always be replated when it is worn off.

Thanks Chrono! Is it necessary to remove the dendritic agate during re-plating?

Wouldn''t rodium make more sense, because of colour? White gold is usually rodhium plated for colour, which is why white gold plating didn''t make sense to me.
