Is it a concern if the date on the GIA certificate is from...let''s say...August 2004? (and I''m buying it today)

If it was a really nice stone, wouldn''t you expect it to be bought by September 2004...??

Thanks,
Mojo

No. A cert from last August is perfectly fine.

Keep in mind that movement of diamonds depends on 1) what size people want, 2) what quality they want, and 3) what elements they want (color, clarity, etc).

Finding a diamond means finding just that right blend for you. The fact that someone else hasn''t purchased it may be as simple as that diamond hasn''t fit the exact criteria for someone else yet.

Great answer aljdewey! Also Mojo, most would say that anything dated within the last 12-18 months would be considered fairly new in the market. So no worries.
