Custom designers - LA... Has anyone heard of high tech ceramic?

Hi! I''m looking for a jewelry designer (in or near Los Angeles) who might be interested in doing a really unique ring setting. I found a ring on Chanel that was made from "high tech ceramic"... and it was really pretty. I was considering having a traditional ring setting made from this high tech ceramic - but I have no idea where to go from here...
Has anyone heard of this material? Is it possible to have a ring made from this material?
