All 3 images posted are IS images. ASET will tell a lot more about fancy cuts. Dump the 1st one - major P3 issues. The 2nd could ASET well. Not so sure about the 3rd.

Bad ASET. You want to see a lot more red than that. Or at least red with some blue (contrast) and green. All the colorless/white area is leakage.

#1 is terrible. #2 and #3 are better than those you were looking at before by a large degree. Still not optimal range, any of them. But if I HAD to pick one, this is the one I'd pick:

The ASET set up at B2C is taking some getting used to.

Did you ask JA for ASETs of the other stones?

Hi gypsy, I'm going to ask for ASETS of the 0.97 one on JA. Another one you recommended has sold. Can you advise if any of these are worth getting ASETs for?

The more videos I see, the more I prefer the colorless, icy look. Thanks for your advice so far!

A g will be VERY VERY VERY white.

I have an F step cut myself. And I have seen a lot of G colored stones.

I really strongly advise you to consider Gs.
I recommend these for ASET:

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.91-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-sku-386335

These each have some flags that could be issues. But given the budget and the specs, they may be worth your time if the ASET out.

Thank you!
What do you think of this?

Table too big?

If I were to go to a g, I would like to fully utilize my budget to at least get a bigger stone (dimensions) and/or better clarity. (I know you might not like to hear this warped layman thinking!) I'm still tempted by their 15% off settings and found a setting I like after talking to the agent. So I have a $4800 budget for a stone, not that it's a lot I know.

That is not a good one. It has a huge table 72% which makes it look like a big flat skating rink on top! No crown to speak of, either.

What kind of setting are you planning for this? Will the stone be set east-west? Because as you get to larger stones, you are looking at a wide band if setting north-south.

Haha! Skating rink. Good one. Thanks.

North south setting.

Sigh, the previous stone has graining. Another new term to me. Why is it still a vvs grade?

Because graining isn't really a big deal. And at VVS it is even less than that.

You are fine with ANY GIA VVS inclusion.

You can see the graining in the magnified pic. It's not anything to be worried about and isn't going to be eye visible.

This has become a very unhealthy obsession!

Gypsy, requested the 3 JA recommendations but 1 of them does not have ASET. Gonna take up to 5 days for the other 2!

Anyway, with everyone's advice and research on the web and on ps, I thought this ASET seems to look good. Can someone confirm?

Thanks!

Yeah, that's a good ASET.

Please note the spread on it. Again, with ECs compare spread (dimensions) not weight.

Yea! I read the ASET correctly! It is pretty deep at 69%. But for the price and good ASET, I wonder if is ok that it's borderline deep?

Is that why it's cheaper maybe? The depth and the medium floro?

That's exactly why it's cheaper. It's not that deep at all. the spread is a combo of the gridle and depth and the crown. And since it's a flat image not a video I can't see the crown height. But I am hoping the crown height is going to be nice and high for you and the stone will be fiery as a result.

But it is great option for your budget.

Thanks for your advice. I'll check on the crown height!

11% or more is what you want. For example my asscher has a 15% crown height.

I don't know if they will be able to get you that information. Some vendors can't.

It's okay if they can't, also.

The stone looks like a nice one. Put it on hold.

The crown height is 14.6%. Yes!

I'm losing confidence with these online retailers! The customer care people always seem to be giving bad advice. When I called about this diamond, they said the ASET on this is very similar to the 1.09 ct one you picked (of the 1st 3, when you had no choice  ) . Each had Light leakage from different parts and that the 1.09 one was better.

I'm glad for your advice and learnt a lot. I'll hold this.
