I''m looking at a princess diamond with the following specs:
Is this a good cut for a diamond? I don''t really understand this cut rating.
Thanks for you help!!

5.89 x 5.62 x 4.17mm (depth estimate)
WEIGHT: 1.13ct. (approx)
CLARITY: VVS-2
COLOR: E-G
CUT: Good, Class 2a

More information?

Usually, stay above 2A or 2B, as those can be fine cuts. However, there are much better ways to buy a princess today (compared to when those charts were formulated.)

I have a question. This stone isn't graded by a lab?

It's MAYBE an E? MAYBE a G? MAYBE 1.13 carats?

This has not been sent to a lab. I''m searching for the perfect diamond to go with the setting you suggested JulieN. I picked up the setting you suggested. This is from a store in the Denver area. It''s one they had in stock to show me. They said they would send it off to get an appraisel, but those were the specs. they gave me for now.

he's sending it to an appraiser of his choosing? and not to a major lab? nono.

If you are really interested in this stone (seen it and like it,) the sale must be contingent on a major lab report or an analysis done by an appraiser of your choosing.

A good choice would be Neil Beaty (aka denver appraiser) https://www.pricescope.com/appraisers_CO.aspx
