channel set diamond cross

for a channel set diamond cross, is it normal for the the channel walls to be not perfectly straight? its hard to see from afar but looking right close at it there are many areas where the channel walls are little crooked to cover the diamond, is this normal in channel settings cross or should the channel setting walls be perfectly straight?
