Katharath is correct, I purchased it from Yvonne, who Katharath first turned me on to. She is great to deal with, I have purchased close to a dozen stones from her, and have been very pleased.

I also removed my Jeff white sapphire from my VC setting and replaced it with this amazing blue green Barry tourm I bought from fortekitty a year or so ago.

Thank you everyone. I'm pretty excited about them. To answer your question, VL I sold it to a fellow PSer. I thought I wanted to buy a big ticket item but wound up returning it. It's alright though. I know JW's new owner will love him.

Feel free to add her to the vendors list in light of how many happy/satisfied PSers are with her service and product. Sometimes, we might be too busy or forgot to add someone in, that's all. I don't think her omission was deliberate.

Chrono I only just saw your post, my apologies for not responding! I don't always remember to recheck a thread after I post

I would've added her to the list myself, but I still consider myself a newbie around here and wasn't entirely sure about the process of adding someone to the list. I believe she has since been added, though, so all is well.

It was actually your gorgeous NSC sapphire that convinced me to ask Gary about this sapphire. Lots of pictures are coming, I can't wait to see this one in all the different lighting conditions.

What a gorgeous stone and setting. Absolutely fabulous. Who made this setting for you?

You tourmaline looks so warm an fine in the VC setting. I was also a fan of your sapph though.

There seem to be a lot of 1.5 ct - 3. ct vvs Mahenge spinels on the market suddenly. I may be wrong, but I was unaware of any recent big finds. I do not mean to imply any explanation. Has any one else noticed this and thought it odd?

Thank you Acinom! My half-bezel wedding ring has a blue/lavender/gray spinel and I think the sapphire will take its place, but I will wait to see it before making the decision. So excited to see the purple in person.

Just an FYI to make sure these are not the new-ish synthetics, if anyone is in the market for a fine Mahenge spinel. Due to the new synthetics being identical to natural stones in just about all ways, I would not use the usual labs such as AIGS but only use AGL.

Thanks TL I'm taking the sapphire to the same guy, Raimo, who made my wedding ring. He's a gem nut and I love talking to him. You just see that passion ignite in his eyes when he sees a mandarin garnet, or a siberian amethyst. He has so many stories about gems and making jewelry. Annette is a lovely designer, I love her style so much. At the same time she sees stone's more from a designer's view, you know, how they fit together designwise, she sees shapes, colors and the sculptural aspects of stones, but is more neutral to them otherwise. I'm hoping to take another project to her as well, later this year.
