Please advise... I own a diamond engagement ring that was supposedly designed by Cartier in NYC in 1936. Is there any way to verify this or to determine the origin of the ring and the design? My father gave it to my mother and he died soon afterwards. It would mean a great deal to me to know.

2) If you don''t have a Cartier nearby, take it to an independent appraiser.
