Buying gemstones in South Africa

Anyone has the experience of buying gemstones in South africa during travel/business/home trips? Would love to hear your experience on how you went about it, whether you are provided with a cert or just trust the B&B store and what would be your advices for someone visiting the country about buying gemstones!! Whatever I need to know!!

Also it would be great if someone could give me some store addresses where I can visit in Cape Town! Any south african members on PS?

ETA: I will be in Cape Town/Garden route early next year and I am interested to buy some african gemstones tanzanite, any suggestions of others? Would love to hear from you!!
