Hi all,
First time poster after many hours of lurking.

I finally decided to make the plunge and tell him what diamond to get.

I like the modern cushion look (square or rectangle). I have seen a couple online that I like...not to mention the Tiffany novo.

I would love to get your input in these stones....I would appreciate any help hunting online... I am a bit gun shy with the other vendors online that dont publish the asset / reflector images...and I really want the optics! I would rather stay around 20 to 30k, and am slightly color sensitive!

I am also going to Solomon brothers tomorrow in atlanta so let me know if you see any winners!

Thanks for all your help in advance
Sar

I think that they are all beautiful, but I'm a little confused, are you looking for a cushion or a princess/modified princess? Cushions have rounded corners such as this for example. The link is for a modern antique cut cushion which is very popular right now, but they are also cut with a more crushed ice type appearance depending on preference. The stones that you posted are more of the princess variety.

Great point, to clarify the vintage chunky look is not for me. The square h and a brellia below is the closest I have found but... This one doesnt have the right size / cost balance for me.

If I could find a great optic 8 main cushion that would be great...I go back and forth on the roundedness. Thanks!

Well - Princess of Hearts variety. :)

A Princess of Hearts is more like a radiant than a princess, except that it has the same type of faceting as a round brilliant. If you're looking for a Princess of Hearts, I think that 1.74 is an excellent choice at 6.7 mm - that's the side measurement. It's probably at least 7 mm diagonally and appear larger than a 6.7 mm round. Also look at the Jubilee's on the site if you do like that look (I obviously do, by my avatar! I looked at regular cushions and even returned one prior to my POH - since I wanted maximum sparkle in a square shape).

If you're not looking for that type of look, then you can narrow down the exact look you want via Good Old Gold's videos on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/diamondinfoman ).

For that kind of money, I would recommend seeing them in person and booking a few days in NY to see GOG and Engagementringsdirect since you're not sure. I don't know if Solomon brothers carries a variety of cushions - I went to all the top stores here in LA and there wasn't a huge selection of TOP performing cushions.
