Scared? YES. In a variety of ways. The table on this thing is like a landing pad. Way to big. Only GOOD polish. GOOD cut (?). As for the EGL cert, do a search (upper right hand corner) and come to your own conclusion.

What you should pay for this stone is NOTHING. You should not buy it.

Why not provide your budget and a couple of parameters (color, clarity) and the good folks on PS will suggest a couple of stones for you.

Well... the second one doesn''t scare me *quite* as much as the first one. SI1s sometimes are--and sometimes aren''t--eye clean. The "Premium" cut grade is a new one on me though.

Here are some parameters to shoot for:

Table 62-68%
Depth 64-75%
Crown Height 10-15%
Excellent polish and symmetry
Girdle - stay away from anything too thin, especially on the corners

Why not post how much you''re willing to spend and see what sort of suggestions you get? If nothing else it will be educational for you in that you''ll see what constitutes a good princess.

I went to Whiteflash and found an Expert Selection Princess near your price range ... Click here

It is 1.03 carat, G color VS1. Based on what Deejay shared with you, I think it might be safe to assume that this stone is a better cut than the one that you had found, therefore, the G color will face up quite white and possibly even similarly to the F that you were interested in.

They have a few stones to choose from ... Take a look and see if you like anything ... Whiteflash makes it pretty easy b/c they tell you what type of cut it is ... A Cut Above is the best, however, Expert Selection is still really good quality at a little lower price.

I hope you find something you love ... Happy hunting!

These are not in-house stones so whoever owns them will have to look and see if they are eye clean. And you will save some $ with the PS discount (I don''t know how much that is exactly, but it should take you close to $5K).

Note that the second one faces up smaller than the first.
(I found these listed on the PS page through Abazias for a few dollars less but I can''t find them on the link that opens for Abazias when I click on them.)

Here are some others: http://search.virtcert.com/cgi/u/1012/v.cgi?stock=7342880&_s=1012&_p=sdf348gd743&_c=&_fs=1&prestock=&_ln=ps
I don''t know what "Certificate Notes: Ideal" is supposed to mean though.

Note that the polish/symmetry is "good" on all but one of these.

Hopefully the princess experts will come on and disect these suggestions (I''m just working off of the most basic parameters) and give you more guidance.
