Asking for Permission Tonight! Help!

I am asking my GF''s parent for permission to have their daughters hand in marriage. I am pretty sure they will be excited as we all get along very well and they have hinted for this moment a few times already.

Is it customary to bring something? If so what?

well i would bring a bottle of champange or wine to celebrate. are you doing it over dinner? Dessert?

if you have a relationship with them i wouldnt feel obligated, but if you are meeting for the first time, i would bring something.

Perhaps it would be wise to save the alcoholic celebration until after she says yes.

It went really well! Even though I have an amazing relationship with her parents I didn''t realize how nervous I would be. I actually had trouble getting the words out (really makes you realize how real the situation is now). Her mom cried with happiness her dad was ecstatic...........they welcomed me into the family and then her mom unleashed on a ton of wedding plan ideas. ( I was like I need to ask your daughter still.....................lol)

Now on to the next step!
