Are these green garnets?

I actually think it kind of looks like a setting that they'd put red garnets in...I know it's 10k American but the back quite resembles some of the German/Austrian vintage (silver) garnet rings I've seen. Very pretty.

You’re a genius! Not the same shank, but:

@westofhere wow nice find! The ring face is pretty much identical. I thought I had seen it somewhere. Definitely looks Austrian to me, perhaps they made 10k gold pieces for exports? I may have come across mentions of exporting but because I normally only see ones made for the continental market for sale, I didn't pay proper attention.

The plot thickens! https://www.etsy.com/listing/175049...=sr_gallery-1-44&organic_search_click=1&frs=1

Also, Australian/Hungarian/Austro-Hungarian garnets are something I’ve never encountered before—very gothic/romantic looking!

The second one definitely looks much newer and simpler.

I agree, Austro-Hungarian jewellery is so gorgeously gothic. I'd love to collect them but I want diamonds too, my wallet...

There’s a whole page of exactly the same design rings on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/PVDVin...r=date_desc&view_type=gallery&ref=shop_search

If you read the descriptions they are all from the 1970s, made in the USA and have Swarovski crystals. Interestingly the gold ones are electroplated and I think this is what has worn off. I don’t believe that’s tarnish.

Unfortunately, hallmarks don’t always tell the truth, and a scratch-&-acid test may not be deep enough. Honest sellers may not know they’ve been duped. I’m becoming disenchanted with the secondhand market :( .

Great detective work. Yes, this ring has thst 1970s vibe. I was thinking at first it could have been a 70s style, but I wasn’t sure.
