appraisal help????

I have bought the band and the diamond from differnt places. Should I take both to get appraised? Also, the main reason that I am asking is because I just purchased a 1.18 c oval and I know I read here to take it to an independent appraisor. Does anybody know how much the appraisor''s normally charge?

Call the appraiser you intend to use and ask. Appraisals cost from as little as $25 to well over $100 for the first item. We often add a wedding ring onto an engagement ring appraisal for a small fee, not a full price addition. Each appraiser will handle the estimate of "how much?" differently.
