I am planning on buying a diamond and I realize that settings ARE the rings, in a lot of cases...what I mean is
I notice that I love certain "rings," and seem to love rounds and radiants.

I love this radiant ring I tried on, in an art deco setting.....but I''m worried that
in the future, I might not be happy with this diamond in another setting, say
a Vatche x prong...

BUT

With a round, it might not look as square/deco of a look even in a vintage-type
setting, but I have the ability to change it in the future (if desired) to practically
anything......

I guess I would need a diamond dealer who would Definitely be around for
the next 30 years...??? How do most people trade up/in ?? What if the business
isn''t around anymore? Any suggestions?

Also wondering if Radiants "Appear" larger than rounds of the same carat wt.

A co-worker has a radiant solitaire in a platinum "basket" type setting, it''s beautiful but I would have never guessed it''s over 2 carats (which it is). My sister just upgraded to a 1.07 carat round brilliant in a 4 prong platinum setting. It''s so sparkly, looks as big as the (over) 2 carat radiant. I think radiants generally have more depth, so they don''t appear as large as a RB.
