While the one I made is similar to the one you posted, I would advise against the raised claws like that with a stone set sideways.
Because of how we use our hands the front edge of rings usually get bumped first, and that design has the exposed edge of the stone facing forward.
The pinky ring was solid (and a much smaller stone) and rubbed in to protect the stone.
To bling up the design I did one hammer set/rubbed in the same, but with a wide edge that I then grain set small mellee around. I didn't take a pic of that one though.
I have also done this style with the sides all pierced out in scrolls. This makes the ring much lighter in gold, lets more light through (good for coloured stones) while still keeping the height and bulk of the original
