Very brown, they sell that color spessartite all over ebay for next to nothing.

Typically,it is more desirable to have a more orange spessartite with little brown.

Shape of that stone is something I''ve noticed, as it''s not really oval, but more like egg-shaped. Other than that, TL pointed out that the most desirable/valuable/sought after color is bright, pure, vivid orange. But if this is the color you like best, that''s OK, as color is a personal preference, and everyone should buy according to personal taste. But do know, however, that some less expensive stones can have this color as well, like hessonite, madeira citrine or even brown zircon. As to buying from e-bay, I wouldn''t do it unless you know it''s an OK vendor with good feedback. Otherwise you might end up buying glass or God knows what.

P. S. The most sought after colors of spessartite will cost you hundreds of dollars per carat, especially in larger sizes (3-4 cts. or above).
