So I'm always looking for ways to change things up a bit. Please let me know your thoughts on this trio. The Tanz ring is in WG, with I think about 2.25 TCW in AA Tanz...I'd have to look at the Cert Card for sure so don't quote me on that. I LOVE the diamonds in the gallery but at first was somewhat put off with how HIGH this ring sits due to the gallery. However, I was browsing at my favorite Mall store that lets me come in and play, and came up with this creation. Each band is the same front and back, 3 rings total. To me they look made for each other but should I worry about the filigree work rubbing? what are the experts thoughts?

They do look great together but yes in my experience the bands will start to rub on each other and alter the filigree work.

Everything is beautiful! Just please keep in mind that tanzanite is a soft stone, prone to scratching and chipping, and generally not recommended for everyday ring wear. Especially in a high setting like that...if you do a tanzanite engagement ring, I''d seriously consider something like a bezel setting to protect the stone more.

Although it just occurred to me that the tanzanite ring may be something you already have (couldn''t really tell from the post), in which case, just be very very careful!

I wouldn't get it because I would be worried about the filligree rubbing together like Marcyc said, and tanzanite is soft, so you wouldn't be able to wear it on an everyday basis, if that was your intention. I have a tanzanite ring I purchased many many years ago, even before anyone knew what tanzanite was, and even though I was very careful with it, when I louped it, I saw many "micro-chips." Apparently tanzanite is more brittle than many of us want to admit to.

THanks everyone! I already own the Tanz, and it would be a once in a while setting, certainly not an everyday. But for now, i''m holding off -
Would soldering them together to stop the spinning stop the wear on the filigree? Don''t see why it wouldn/tIMHO, but ya''all know more than I

I’ve heard that soldering the rings together might take care of the damage the rings do to each other because they will no longer be able to move independently and rub against each other.
