Went to Willow Glen jewelers yesterday for some *research*. I tried this on and they kindly took pics and emailed them to me so I thought I would share for anyone interested in halos. It had a 2.02 K SI1 in it. You can see the tinit sideways for sure but it wasn''t that apparent to me even outside. It looked to ne a well-cut diamond, I could see some arrows.

Anyway hope you enjoy them...

Wow!! That is quite a beauty!! I would not have guessed that is a K. I love the dainty halo. You might have to bring that one home!

It was a nice stone. I was surprised by how white it was. The price on the sticker was $33k though. Quite a lot for a 2.02 K SI1. I''m not in the market for the whole shebang, just wanted to try a round halo of that size on. I must say I think it looked pretty good!

Very pretty. I love the slight warmth of that center stone.

Ditto. Looks lovely. Too bad it''s hideously overpriced!

It really flatters your hand! $33k is way overpriced, though!

That is very pretty! But to be honest, I don''t think it is a good everyday ring and I am not sure about it being timeless. I have liked some of your other ideas better!

Ahhh.... DS... I think you are right. I''m not in love with the setting per se... I just wanted to see what a 2ct halo''ed round would look like on my hand.

I am talking with Maytal now and have about 4 final contenders, 2 variations on 2 themes. One is like AggieTexans idea and the other is a Jack Kelege''ish ring with a cushion shaped halo rather than round. Don''t know whether to go ornate or more simple.

anyway the search continues... how is yours going? I''m not up to speed with it..

thank you woltress! I was pleasantly surprised! Don''t worry I''m not after the center stone, just trying to exhaustively try on every setting in the greater Bay area!

You know you can see it in the pic clearly... but it was no way as apparent as that in real life. But as I just said to wolftress, I'm not after the stone, just gathering information!

I took a look at my guy''s inventory and a 2 ct. K color, SI 1 WITH a GIA Cert is around $7,500-

They REALLY DO bank on people not knowing what they''re looking at, don''t they?
You could make that ring yourself for $10,000.-

$33K minus $10K, well that''s a nice little profit!
