Catchiing some sunshine. The LOGR is 14K yellow gold. No diamond upgrade (too tiny to notice).

Really gorgeous! I love that its in yellow gold.

Is there a reason its a green beryl and not an emerald?

Lovely ring. Is the blue color from the sky, or is this green beryl close to an aqua? In any case, it is gorgeous.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words on my new ring.

Szh07,
It technically could be called an emerald since it does contain chromium, it''s just too light to be what I consider a traditional emerald color, so I rather call it "green beryl." It cannot be aqua because it doesn''t contain iron, and aqua must be blue beryl with iron from what I''ve read.

It''s a bit of blue coming off my shirt, it''s more minty in color. Thank you!!

I was wondering when you were going to set that beryl - looks lovely!

Any update on your pear LOGR setting?

Hi Cellentani,
He is redoing the entire ring with VS diamonds. Thanks for asking.

Very nice, I was going to ask why you were calling it a green beryl, but I see someone has beat me to it.

Thank you for all the kind words again everyone. I think I will take some shoots with my aqua to demonstrate the difference in color between green beryl and aqua. It reminds me of a very nice prasiolite (green quartz), but natural in color. It's a very nice minty color.

Looks like I missed this post too; I''ve not been a good PScoper missing so many jewellery updates. The stone looks very lively and I was about to ask about the strong blue colour I see in the pictures too.

Perhaps we should all wear white shirts when doing photography.

I was wearing all black today in my car with a grey interior, nothing blue to be found, and the sky was white and overcast, and I still saw those blue glints, so it does show up on it's own in sunlight. In fluorescent light, it looks more of a pure mint. Weird. My grossular also does the same thing. It shows blue glints when there's really no blue around. I'll take some additional photos with my aqua and without my blue shirt - LOL!!

A mint should have blue undertones so I would expect to see some blue glints.
